IAMFC presentation June 2026.

In June 2026, the International Association of Marriage and Family Counselors (IAMFC), in partnership with the Vietnam Institute of Psychology, convened its 2026 International Conference in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Held at Hotel Lachateau from June 25–28, the conference gathered under the theme “Steadfast Anchor in Connection” (Vững Neo Trong Sự Kết Nối) and centered on the broader focus of Connection, Application, and Integration in Marriage and Family Counseling. Over four days of learning, networking, and hands-on practice, the event brought together leading clinicians and educators from around the world, including Dr. Matina Moore, Dr. Myra Wilkinson, Dr. Mark Saunders, Dr. Kevin Tate, and many other international and Vietnamese specialists, alongside practitioners and students of marriage and family counseling.

I had the privilege of presenting at this conference a session on Group Therapy: Evidence, Mechanisms, and Potential in the Vietnamese Context. In my presentation, I examined the empirical foundations of group therapy and the therapeutic mechanisms that make it effective, while exploring how these approaches can be meaningfully adapted and applied within Vietnam’s cultural and clinical landscape.
